At the age of 32, Sara Rue has lost 50 pounds. When she got engaged and after years of battling with weight loss, she joined Jenny Craig and now, she has achieved her bridal weight loss goal. 1. Your Relationship with Food Should Change


Initially, Sara was a size 14 and currently, she is a size 6. She says that she is more confident and losing 50 pounds was a steep goal and believes that she managed to stand up to the goals set by majority of Americans. 2. Begin Slow while Building on Stamina


Apart from signing with Jenny Craig as the spokesperson and also blogging about weight loss, she says that she started small and worked towards building her exercise regimen. When she started her fitness routine, she would put on a pedometer and target stepping at least 10,000 steps every day. She advises that you should start small in order to achieve your long term weight loss goals.


3. Have a Weight Loss Plan for before and after losing Weight


Sara Rue says that in terms of dieting, the followed the start-up program by Jenny Craig until she managed to attain her 50 pound goal. Since she is happy with this achievement, she has now switched to the Maintenance Plan by Jenny Craig and this includes to sticking to a calorie diet of 1,700 everyday. This also includes 4 days of cardio workouts.

4. Add Some Calories Shortcuts in the Diet


Rue says that after 7.30 pm, she tries not to have any animal proteins in her diet. She says ‘When I make pasta, fresh spinach forms the bottom layers of the bowl. This way, I am having pasta but with less carbs’


5. Get Rid of Excuses


Despite the fact that she has lost weight, Rue admits to the fact that keeping the weight off is not easy. As she poses in a bikini feature photo, she looks amazing and is absolutely pleased with the results. However, she says there are instances when she feels like she is going off the rails. She says that on such occasions she employs her own advice, ‘I don’t give myself excuses’

6. Workout and Have Fun


In her capacity as host role for the Shedding for the Wedding program, she helps other brides lose weight as they wait for that special day. She no longer works out with her personal trainer but rather opts for a fitness program that is integrated and so much more fun.


7. Do not obsess over Losing Weight


She says that she used to obsess about weight loss but she no longer does that. She says, ‘I’M going to the gym with less obsession and I have taken some dance classes for fun’.
